India's U19 team enters the triple series final despite losing to England U19

BECKENHAM (United Kingdom): The India U19 team reached the final despite losing to England U19 by eight wickets through the D/L method in a rainy day youth match. Tri-Nation Series .

The U19 India team will face Bangladesh U19 in the summit clash in Hove on Sunday.

With three wins and three losses, the India U19 team finished in second place with eight points, behind Bangladesh U19, which led the table with 11 points. England secured 5 points.

Opting to hit first in the final game of the league, India U-19 registered a competitive 278 by 8 in its 50 stipulated envelopes, courtesy of an excellent hundred by Divyaansh Saxena (102) and half a century by Priyam Garg (51) and Tilak Varma (52)

In response, England U-19 had a good start, raising 161 for one in 37 overs with the initial hitters Ben Charlesworth (46) and Tom Clark (66) establishing a 72-run association at 15.5 overs.

Once Charlesworth was sent back by Pragnesh Kanpillewar, Dan Mousley and Clark kept England U19 in the chase.

However, rain interruptions reduced the target to 214 of 42 envelopes.

In need of 56 of 30 balls, Mousley took care of himself and threw three four and two six to take England U-19 home with three extra balls.

India's last U-19 game against Bangladesh U-19 was abandoned due to rain and both teams shared the points.
