Metro Cash u0026 Carry partners with ePayLater to digitize kirana stores

New Delhi, August 5 () Wholesale retailer Metro Cash u0026 Carry announced Monday its partnership with the new fintech company ePayLater to help Kirana stores digitize their businesses using smartphones.

As part of its next phase of the kirana digitization program, Metro in partnership with ePayLater has co-created a mobile application 'Digital Shop' to digitize the commercial operations of kirana stores instantly without any additional investment, according to a joint statement.

Through this application, kirana store owners can track their daily and monthly sales, manage inventory, place orders with Metro and also pay digitally, he added.

The Digital Store initiative is aligned with the impulse of the Government of India to digitize small retailers and merchants, and aims to help facilitate a more level playing field for these small and independent businesses for their continued success, Metro Cash Carry India MD u0026 CEO Arvind Mediratta said.

The application will also provide analysis to kirana owners, such as inventory consumption patterns and fast and slow-moving products that will optimize the combination of kirana products and eventually help improve their revenues and margins, according to the statement. Metro Cash Carry entered the Indian market in 2003 and currently operates 27 wholesale distribution centers. Worldwide, it operates in 26 countries with more than 760 wholesale markets and employs approximately 105,000 people. KRH RVK
