Medication failure: Hyderabad pharma company honcho held, ketamine worth Rs 25 crore confiscated

HYDERABAD: A CEO Of A Pharmaceutical Company Was Arrested Monday Because He Allegedly Produced Ketamine - Also Called" Date Rape Drug" - In One Of Their Units On An Industrial Park. (NCB) Investigators Grabed 477 Kilo Ketamine Of Rs 25 Crore From The Nacharam Unit Of Inchem Laboratories Pvt Ltd.

The NCB Had Raided The Company's Nacharam Unit On May 2, Seized The Drugs And Called Inchem Director P Venkateshwarulu. On Monday, Venkateshwarulu Was Arrested And Produced In A Local Court. The Director Of Inchem Was Arrested Earlier In 2009 By The Directorate Of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) On The Seizure Of 403 Kilos Of Ephedrine, Which Is Used To Produce Amphetamines. He Was Now Taken To Bengaluru With An Arrest Warrant For Prisoners (PT) When The Mob In Hyderabad Was Arrested After The NCB Raids In The Capital Of Karnataka.

" The Nacharam Plant Has A License For Research And Development Of Pharmaceutical Drugs. But They Were Producing Illegal Ketamine," Said An NCB Official.

The Pharmaceutical Company Is Located In The Czech Colony Of Sanatnagar. When NCB Speurneuzen Raided The Factory In Nacharam, There Were 17 Workers. Of The 17, Eight Were Regular Employees And The Rest Were Contractual. The NCB Researchers Have Not Arrested Any Employees Because They Did Not Know What Medicines Were Manufactured In The Factory.
