The government school teacher takes 2 students on an air trip to pass class X successfully
VISAKHAPATNAM: Two students from Zilla Parishad High School in Jalluru in the district who passed their class X exams with great success recently experienced the pleasure of flying on a plane for the first time, thanks to their English teacher, K Venkata Srinivasa Rao.
In a novel initiative to encourage students, Srinivasa Rao sponsored the air travel of two of his students, S Anjali and Ch Neeraja, to obtain a perfect GPA in the recent results of the class X exams.
The teacher had promised air travel beforehand to motivate students to do well on their exams.
The two students, Srinivasa Rao and his wife spent three days in Hyderabad from July 19 to 21.
Speaking to TOI, Srinivasa Rao said that the luxury of giving expensive gifts and prizes to the best in the class is generally limited to corporate schools. I want to face the trend and decided to take the students to Hyderabad along with my wife. I will also continue with the initiative in the coming years, said the 52-year-old government school teacher.
The euphoric students, Anjali and Neeraja, talked about their experiences in Hyderabad. We have covered almost all the prominent tourist places, including the Nizam Museum, the Golconda Fort, the Birla Planetarium, etc. We are now waiting for the IIIT admission results, the 10-GPA headlines said.
The students and their teacher took a flight to Hyderabad on July 19 from Visakhapatnam and returned to the city through Garib Rath on July 22.
In addition to contributing his own pocket, Srinivasa Rao has mobilized about 32 donor lakhs to increase infrastructure in several schools where he worked over the years.
Srinivasa Rao has also sponsored the education of four engineering students.
His four-year student training program, Advanced English Grammar with Community Approach, at Yellapuvanipalem High School was evaluated by English teachers.
They had evaluated the students who had received the training program from 2012 to 2016 and expressed their satisfaction.
The principal of Jalluru V Ramana Murthy High School, the rest of the staff and the villagers of Jalluru have appreciated the initiative of the teacher.
Srinivasa Rao wishes to continue encouraging his students to challenge themselves by giving them incentives.
