Darshan VIP for the donation of Rs 10,000 in the temple of Tirupati

TIRUPATI: The installation of VIP resting darshan in the temple, which mostly caters to the great and powerful, will soon be available to ordinary devotees. The Devasthanams (TTD) of Tirumala plan to launch a new scheme that will allow ordinary devotees to obtain VIP privilege.

The temple administration plans to link the donations offered to the Srivani Foundation with the VIP darshan, which will bring ordinary devotees to the area of. The Sri Venkateswara Alaya Nirmanam Trust (Srivani Trust) was recently promoted for the preservation and construction of Lord Venkateswara's temples throughout the country.

Since the TTD has already introduced a simplified rupture darshan system, it is now focusing on making common devotees also experience the privilege. According to the new scheme, any devotee who donates ₹ 10,000 to the Srivani Trust will be issued a VIP darshan ticket.

From now on, devotees wishing to use the facility should obtain letters of recommendation from influential people (political leaders, senior government officials, etc.). The joint executive officer of the TTD in Tirumala has been vested with the discretionary powers to examine the letters and issue VIP darshan tickets to the devotees.

Even though VIP tickets for break darshan are priced at ₹ 500 (per ticket), many devotees, despite being willing to pay the amount, do not get limited tickets since most of them go to influential people or with letters of recommendation. People are also often victims of resellers coughing up to ₹ 10,000 for a single ticket.

Taking all these factors into account, it is known that the EO TTD Anil Kumar Singhal designed this new scheme, for which a dedicated quota of darshan VIP tickets would be reserved for devotees who donate ₹ 10,000 to the Srivani Trust. The move will also help eliminate the threat from resellers and intermediaries. Singhal said the new plan will soon be launched in line with the commitment of the head minisitros Jaganmohan Reddy to guarantee an uncomplicated darshan for all the devotees who visit Tirumala.
