NEW DELHI: India said on Thursday that the verdict of (CIJ) in the case is a complete vindication of its position and it is up to Pakistan to implement the decision.
In a major victory for India, the International Court of Justice on Wednesday ruled that Pakistan should review the death sentence granted to Jadhav and asked him to provide him with consular access.
The ruling of the International Court of Justice is a complete vindication of India's position on the issue, said the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is up to Pakistan to implement the plan, he said.
Kumar said that the judgment of the International Court of Justice is final, binding and without the provision of the appeal.
On the claim of victory of Pakistan in the International Court of Justice, said that Pakistan has its own compulsions to lie to its people.
Jadhav, 49, a retired Indian Navy officer, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on charges of espionage and terrorism after a trial closed in April 2017.
India had approached the International Court of Justice against the decision of the military court in May 2017 and the world court suspended its execution at that time.
The ICJ, in a 15-1 vote, confirmed India's claim that Pakistan is in serious violation of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, 1963, for several reasons in the case.
