BHUBANESWAR: The Election Commission Of India Postponed The Election To The Constituency Of The Assembly On Monday Due To The Devastation Caused By Cyclone In The Coastal Districts. The Election To The Constituency Was Scheduled On May 19.
An Official Declaration Of The Main Election Commander, Said:" The EBI Has Decided To Extend The Completion Of The Elections Of The Patkura Constituency For 60 Days. The Date Of The Poll Will Be Determined By Appropriate Means After Assessment Of The Local Situation.
Prime Minister Naveen Patnaik On 30 April, He Had Called On The EBI To Postpone Elections In The Assembly Segment In The Wake Of The Cyclone Warning. However, The BJP Had Moved The EBI Against The CM Proposal.
