Sidharth Malhotra reveals that 'Jabariya Jodi' was made with real events
After creating a buzz with the trailer, the creators of 'Jabariya Jodi' released their first song 'Khadke Glassy', which also received an immense love from the fans. The movie that stars Sidharth Malhotra & Parineeti Chopra , has a unique concept that is based on the practice of Pakadwa Shaadi in Uttar Pradesh .
Interestingly, both the writers of the film, Sanjeev K Jha & Prashant Singh belong to the same state, so they reportedly took facts & fictionalized the story, keeping it as real as possible.
When Sidharth was asked, if he had heard about this concept earlier, he said, "I had read about it online & discovered that 100-plus FIRs have been filed so far in groom-kidnapping cases. It’s true that to avoid dowry, men are forced to get married at gunpoint. Our writer (Sanjeev K Jha) & director (Prashant Singh) are from the state, so they have taken facts & fictionalized them to make an entertaining love story. It’s an interesting cocktail & I was drawn to this endearing character."
The Prashant Singh directional is shot at real locations in Uttar Pradesh to stay true to its essence. The duo is reuniting to deliver a one-of-a-kind love story coupled with an ensemble cast of Aparshakti Khurana Sanjay Mishra, Neeraj Sood, Gopal Dutt, Javed Jaffrey , & Chandan Roy Sanyal .
Releases of 'Jabariya Jodi' on August 2, 2019.
