Prime Minister Modi congratulates Sitharaman for his budget, calls it 'Green Budget'

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated India's first full-time finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and his team for a budget oriented to the future, friendly for the development and oriented to the citizen.

The budget will be prosperous for the economy, empower the poor and provide a better future for the country's youth, Modi said in a statement.

By declaring the budget a green budget, PM said it focuses on the environment, electric mobility, solar structure and fields for green and clean energy.

Prime Minister Modi said the budget for a 'New India' has a roadmap to transform the farming Sector of the country. It will strengthen the country's educational system and ensure that the benefits of artificial intelligence and space research reach people.

He said the budget is hopeful and will ensure the progress of the middle class and boost the development process.
