Hafiz Saeed will be arrested soon, says Pakistani police

LAHORE: Mumbai attacks the brain and JuD chief Hafiz Saeed and 12 of his closest collaborators will be arrested very soon, police said Thursday, a day after Pakistani authorities searched them for committing multiple crimes terrorism financing and money laundering .

The Anti-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Punjab Police registered on Wednesday 23 FIR against 13 leaders of JuD, including Saeed, for terrorism financing charges.

The CTD has reserved the (13) JuD leaders and other organizations banned for terrorism financing charges. As the FIRs have registered, the suspects will be arrested shortly, said Punjab police spokesman Niyab Haider Naqvi.

Saeed is present in the city of Jauhar in Lahore and police are waiting for a green signal from the government to assault his residence and stop him, a source in the government of Pakistan said.
