Goa reports 14 new cases of Covid-19, total 36, number expected to increase

PANAJI: Goa saw a jump with 14 new cases added to its account, including 13 and a woman who arrived by road on Sunday. As of Monday afternoon, 14 cases were reported and the numbers were expected to increase as confirmatory reports from some were expected.

On Sunday, 9 rail passengers were confirmed positive. Since the past two days, more than 500 rail passengers have arrived in Goa by train.

All rail passengers are segregated and tested for Covid-19 and are allowed to return home only if their test reports are negative. Similarly, those arriving in Goa by road, except for freight drivers and their accompanying men, are quarantined and tested.

With the increase in all cases due to people with a travel history, the locals have been demanding that Goa completely seal its borders. Railways should not be allowed to stop in Goa.
