Nirmala Sitharaman will announce today the last stretch of the economic package

NEW DELHI: The last installment of the announcement by the Union's finance minister will take place on Sunday.

Sitharaman will announce the last tranche of the stimulus package of Rs 20 lakh crore at 11 a.m. from today.

The finance minister said on Saturday that the central government will introduce competition, transparency and private sector participation in the coal sector and undertake an infrastructure development of Rs 50,000 crore.

Earlier on Friday, Sitharaman announced the Rs 1 lakh crore Agricultural Infrastructure Fund for farm gate infrastructure for farmers and the Rs 10,000 crore scheme for formalizing Micro Food Enterprises (MFE) under the Rs 20 lakh crore stimulus package .

He also proposed amendments to the Commodities Law to allow better price realization for farmers, and said that a stock cap should not apply to processors or value chain participants.

On Thursday, the Minister of Finance announced the 'One Nation One Ration Card', a free supply of food grains for migrants and the creation of affordable rental housing complexes (ARHCs) in urban areas for migrant workers and the poor under the package of Covid-19 stimulus.

The announcements came after the prime minister Narendra Modi On Tuesday, he announced the economic package for the country to become 'self-sufficient' and deal with the Covid-19 crisis.
