The death toll of Covid-19 in Delhi rises to 123; 425 new boxes bring the account to 8,895
NEW DELHI: The death toll in Delhi has risen to 123, even as the total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the national capital rose to 8,895 on Friday, authorities said. On Thursday, the city had registered 472 new cases, the highest peak in a single day.
In a bulletin released on Friday, the Delhi health department said the death toll from coronavirus infection has risen to 123.
He said the cumulative death figures refer to deaths where the leading cause of death was found to be Covid-19, according to the report of the Death Audit Committee based on case sheets received from various hospitals.
On Thursday, the total number of virus cases totaled 8,470, including 115 deaths.
With 425 new cases, the total number of coronavirus cases in Delhi has increased to 8,895.
