40 new cases bring Telangana's account to 1,454
HYDERABAD: Reported 40 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday, bringing the state's count to 1,454.
The increase continued where 33 people tested positive. Seven were also found infected.
According to the director of public health and family welfare, no deaths were reported on Friday. The death toll remained unchanged at 34.
The day 13 people were discharged from the hospital in their recovery. With this, the number of people healed/graduated increased to 959. The number of active cases is now 461.
With seven new cases among migrants, the total number of positive migrants increased to 44. All cases were those that returned to the state from various parts of the country.
Officials noted that large numbers of migrants enter the state from across the country. Evacuees from other countries arriving in Hyderabad on designated flights are being screened at the airport, and symptomatic individuals are screened for Covid-19.
All migrants arriving by road and rail are being screened for symptoms at railway stations and at border checkpoints.

Asymptomatic migrants arriving in Telangana through various entry points are quarantined in their homes and in government quarantine facilities. Symptomatic migrants are isolated and tested and additional measures are taken.
Health authorities have called on people to inform local officials if they identify new people, migrants who have recently arrived in cities and towns.
