Vande Bharat Mission: 141 Indians stranded in the United States arrive in Chennai

CHENNAI: Up to 141 stranded Indian nationals in the United States arrived here on Wednesday on a flight, authorities said.

Indian citizens arrived this morning from Chicago through Mumbai.

After completing the immigration and customs formalities, in addition to the Covid-19 test, they were sent to the respective centers in government-organized buses, they said.

Quarantine centers located in and around the city include both government facilities and star hotels, the latter available as a paid method.

Up to 11 people treated as a 'special case' were sent to selected hospitals for isolation, in addition to home quarantine.

Indian citizens stranded abroad due to the blockade caused by the Indian government transports them in their largest evacuation campaign on the high seas under the 'Vande Bharat' Mission.
