Delhi police confiscate documents from 700 foreign members of Tablighi Jamaat

NEW DELHI: The crime branch has seized documents from around 700 foreigners.

Sources reported that all of these members had attended the event held in March earlier this year.

The seized documents include passports of these people.

On 5 May, the Delhi Police Crime Branch had questioned the son of Maulana Saad, the chief of Tablighi Jamaat, and sought details on 20 people who had attended the Markaz in Nizamuddin in the national capital or were part of his management.

An FIR was previously registered against the chief of Tablighi Jamaat and others under the Epidemic Diseases Act of 1897 in connection with the congregation held at Markaz in the Nizamuddin area of ​​the national capital.
