They are both very good players. Virat's style is very different ... Steve's style is completely different. They approach the game very differently, Rahane said.
They are both very good spinning and fast bowlers. We really enjoyed hitting with Steve in Rajasthan Royals . Batting with Virat is always fun. We enjoy each other's company. We also enjoy each other's success. Communication between us is really good and we trust each other as we fight together, he added.
Under normal circumstances, Rahane would have been currently playing for his new franchise. Capitals of Delhi in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the tournament was postponed by the BCCI.
Rahane also spoke about his return to white ball cricket, which could have been helped if he had a good IPL this year. But with the cash-rich league procrastinated, his hope remains balanced. Rahane, however, stated that he is not thinking too much about the situation and is trying to stay positive.
It's about being positive right now, especially at a time when we can't go out and play cricket. No one predicted about COVID-19 (pandemic), so no one can predict the future, Rahane said.
For me, it's about keeping a positive attitude in your mind and thinking about doing it well for my country, no matter what format you're playing.
So going back to ODI is on my mind, but right now it's about staying positive. Cricket is a fun game and anything can happen, he added.
For Rahane, forced rest due to the coronavirus pandemic is like a blessing in disguise since, according to his own admission, he is spending time with his family, which would not have been possible otherwise.
I believe in having a routine. I wake up and complete my training before my daughter wakes up. Then I spend time with my family, especially my daughter, she said.
