Pak's army resorts to shelling in twin sectors of Rajouri, Poonch at J&K

JAMMU: The Pakistani military on Tuesday resorted to shooting and shelling at outposts and posts along the LoC in the Jammu and twin sectors and districts, authorities said.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. today, the Pakistani military initiated an unprovoked cease-fire violation by firing small arms and heavy mortar shelling across the LoC in the Manjakote sector, Rajouri district, said a defense spokesman.

Later, Pakistan Army troops resorted to heavy shelling in the front area along the LoC in the Poonch district sector on Tuesday night, he said.

He was retaliating accordingly, he added.

The exchange of fire and shelling was taking place when the latest reports came from the area, he said.
