PepsiCo India-funded Covid-19 test kits begin to hit the labs
NEW DELHI: PepsiCo India said on Tuesday that the first batch of test kits funded by it began to reach test sites across India.
These kits are being purchased and distributed by Foundation for New (FIND) with funds from PepsiCo India and have been approved by (ICMR), the company said in a statement.
PepsiCo India volunteered to support the expansion of India's COVID-19 testing capacity through the support provided to FIND.
In addition, it has taken other initiatives including providing more than 7 million meals to families affected by the COVID-19 outbreak in partnership with partners of non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
The test kits and reagents have been purchased from manufacturers approved by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) and are run using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technology, which is currently the standard. gold to detect COVID-19 patients, the company said.
