Jan Aushadhi Kendras accepts orders on WhatsApp, email to facilitate access to medicines: Government
NEW DELHI: Several Jan are accepting email and email orders to ensure patient acquisition of medications during the shutdown, the government said Tuesday.
Currently, there are more than 6,300 Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJK) operating in 726 districts of the country that guarantee the supply of quality medicines at affordable prices, the ministry of chemicals and fertilizers said in a statement.
It is encouraging to note that many PMBJKs are using modern communication tools, including social media platforms like WhatsApp, to provide better services to achieve faster delivery of essential medicines to those in need, said chemical and fertilizer minister DV Sadananda Gowda.
In April 2020, around Rs 52 crore of medicines have been supplied across the country, according to the statement.
He added that supply arrangements were made with India Post for the delivery of medications to stores located in remote locations.
