Part of Shastri Bhavan's apartment sealed after a law ministry official tests Covid-19 positive
NEW DELHI: An apartment in Shastri Bhavan, a government that houses multiple ministries, was partially sealed Tuesday after an official tested positive for coronavirus.
This is the second incident in the Lutyens area of the government office closing. The NITI Aayog building was sealed last month.
According to two senior government officials, a Law Ministry official, located on the fourth floor of the Shastri Bhavan, has tested positive.
Under the protocol, contact tracing was started, they said.
The fourth floor 'A' wing from door number 1 to door number 3 has been sealed and is being disinfected. Certain doors and elevators will also remain closed until Wednesday, officials said.
Before Niti Aayog, which houses the Ministry of Civil Aviation, was also sealed for disinfection after a positive case of Covid-19 was detected.
In other such incidents, the CRPF and part of the BSF headquarters were recently sealed. These buildings are located in the CGO complex in the national capital.
