UP: 15 Tablighi Jamaat members sent to 14-day judicial custody in Muzaffarnagar

MUZAFFRNAGAR: Fifteen members of Tablighi Jamaat, including, were brought before a court in which they were sent to 14-day judicial custody, an official said Monday.

While 12 of them belonged to the neighboring country, two were from Assam and one from Moradabad from UP.

They were hired for violating the Aliens Act and the Epidemic Diseases Act after they failed to inform authorities about their stay in a mosque at Shamli's.

SP Vinit Jaiswal told mediapersons that the police had registered a case against them after they were found residing in a mosque on April 1.

They were sent to quarantine facilities and arrested after completing their isolation period on Sunday.
