13 SSB staff tested positive for Covid-19

NEW DELHI: Up to 13 border surveillance force staff members () have tested positive for coronavirus so far, officials said Monday.

They said that while nine infected officials belong to the 25th battalion of the force based in the Ghitorni area of ​​the national capital, the rest are from other places.

All of the staff have been placed in hospital isolation facilities, they said.

The approximately 80,000 SSB troops are primarily tasked with protecting the 1,751 km length between India and Nepal and 699 km along the India-Bhutan borders, in addition to performing a variety of functions in the country's internal domain.

It is one of the paramilitary forces or () under the Union's home ministry.
