Hosts of Tokyo Olympic Games wrestling playoffs unchanged
PARIS: United World Fight (UWW) has confirmed to China, Morocco and Hungary will continue to host the continental qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics which have been postponed until next year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The confirmation came after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved the updated wrestling classification system for the Games, reports the Xinhua news agency.
Xi'an in China will host the Asian continental classifier, the event that was one of the first postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
El Jadida in Morocco is due to stage the joint Africa and Oceania qualification event, with Hungary 's capital Budapest hosting the European qualifier.
The three continental events are scheduled for March of next year, with two spots available in each division in the qualifiers.
The Bulgarian capital Sofia will host the World Ranking event, which will determine the final places in the Games.
