Adityanath blames Tablighi Jamaat members for COVID-19 spread
LUCKNOW: In considering the members responsible for the spread, the Prime Minister has said that being infected with a virus is not a crime, but concealing it definitely is.
The prime minister said action will be taken against them for the crime.
Speaking on a news channel program on Saturday, Adityanath said: The role of Tablighi Jamaat was more damnable. Having an illness is not a crime but hiding an illness that is infectious is definitely a crime. And this crime has been done by those associated with the Tablighi Jamaat.
In Uttar Pradesh and other places where the spread of the virus has been seen, Tablighi Jamaat is behind him. If they had not hidden the disease and been as its carriers, then perhaps we would have controlled the coronavirus outbreak to a great extent. he said.
A Tablighi Jamaat congregation held in March in the Nizamuddin area of Delhi contributed significantly to doubling cases of coronavirus in India.
