Sharath Kamal distributes rice and vegetables to workers in the middle of the running of the bulls
NEW DELHI: As India fights the threat posed by the coronavirus pandemic, indian paddler ace Sharath Kamal distributed rice and vegetables to workers affected by the national blockade.
The Interior Ministry issued an order on Friday to extend the ongoing blockade for a further two weeks from May 4. The ministry also allowed the movement of migrant workers, tourists, students and others stranded in different places, on special trains.
Sharath said his father's gesture of helping people encouraged him to help those in need amid the country's national lockdown.
A month ago, my father had helped some people in need with a little dry ration. That encouraged me to extend some help as well. We distribute rice and vegetables today to workers affected by the #block! #LabourDay #MayDay, Sharath tweeted

This was Sharath's first IITF title since winning the Egyptian Open in 2010. The ace paddler also became the highest ranked Indian table tennis player in the men's category last month.
He jumped seven places in the last ranking of older men published by the International Table Tennis Federation ( ITTF ) to take position 31.
