The panel of the United States House of Representatives wants Bezos to testify in an antitrust investigation

WASHINGTON: The Judiciary Committee of the United States House of Representatives asked Amazon chief executive on Friday to testify before Congress, in a major escalation of its investigation into the country's largest technology companies. The testimony would allow Bezos to be questioned about accusations that abuse his market power in online retail, mistreat warehouse workers and harm small businesses. In a letter to Bezos, lawmakers even threatened to quote him. An Amazon spokeswoman declined to comment.

The decision to call Bezos to testify comes after a detailed article on how Amazon employees had used data from outside vendors to refine their private label offerings. Amazon executives said they did not believe the allegations were accurate, but an internal investigation was launched.
