Covid-19: Goa declared a green zone, CM says the fight is far from over
PANAJI: Despite the Center declaring both districts in Goa as 'green zones' in connection with the new coronavirus outbreak, Prime Minister Pramod Sawant said on Friday that the fight was far from over even though the state did not had active cases.
He said the need now was for the people of the state to adopt a modified lifestyle with priority for health.
With the efforts of our #CoronaWarriors and the support of the people of Goa, our state has now been classified as a green zone by the Government of India. The war against COVID-19 is far from over, he said on his Facebook page. .
We must continue our fight against this virus by adopting a modified lifestyle that prioritizes safe health standards, such as disinfection, the use of face covers, social distancing and staying home during the closing period, he added.
Meanwhile, state health minister Vishwajit Rane dedicated May 1, celebrated internationally as Labor Day, to front-line staff fighting the outbreak.
The seven people who were detected with the infection in Goa have recovered and been discharged.
