Maharashtra: 5 more detained in Palghar lynching case, 115 caught so far

PALGHAR: On April 16, five more people were arrested in connection with the lynching of two sadhus and their driver in the Palghar district, authorities said on Friday.

The three victims, from Kandivali in Mumbai, were attending a funeral in Surat in Gujarat in the middle of the closure when they were attacked and killed by a crowd in the presence of the police.

With the capture of these five people, the number of people detained in the case is now 115, nine of whom are minors. These are the first arrests made by the state's CID Crime Division that recently took over the investigation. All except the minors have been in police custody until May 13, he added.
