Adam Scott broadcasts live 'round with a partner'
SYDNEY: hungry for action Golf fans tuned in to watch Australia sole champion of Masters Adam Scott Have a trick around your local Queensland club with a partner on Friday, live on Instagram.
Scott streamed live nine holes of play with local professionals Wayne Perske at Maleny Golf Club on the Sunshine Coast, with the couple making a friendly bet of Aus $ 5 ($ 3) plus bragging rights.
But while Scott already has a club record of 62, Friday's competition was fought evenly, and the pair tied the game.
Perske missed a putt in the final hole that would have earned him victory, much to Scott's relief.
So we have cut the game in half. Sorry it didn't work for all of you, said Scott, number six in the world, with a smile.
But I'm pretty happy now that I don't have to live with Wayne hitting me.
While the coronavirus pandemic has mothballed the European and PGA tours, Golf is allowed in restricted form in most of Australia , which has so far weathered the crisis relatively well.
Scott emphasized at the start of the round that he and Peske would observe the proper social distance tag.
He also paid tribute to Australia 's successful efforts in containing the coronavirus and offered.
I am proud to be Australian to see how we are doing with this, Scott said. We have to be aware of all this. Hopefully we will return to some sort of normality soon.
