Rihanna, Jack Dorsey and Jay-Z donate $ 6.2 million to COVID-19 relief funds

Popstar Rihanna, CEO of Twitter Jack dorsey and rapper Jay Z They have announced that they will donate $ 6.2 million for coronavirus relief efforts, both in the United States and abroad. The grant of Rihanna 's Clara Lionel Foundation, Dorsey and Jay Z' s Shawn carter Foundation (SCF) will be distributed among 11 organizations.

The funds will also be used to provide shelter, food and health care services to homeless youth in New Orleans, to develop virus testing capabilities throughout the Caribbean, and for the installation of ICUs, hospital beds and isolation units in the Sub-Saharan Africa, among others.

In a statement, the Clara Lionel Foundation published the list of organizations that will receive the grants. These include Doctors Without Borders, the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, the Mayor's Fund to Advance in New York City, and Covenant House New Orleans.

A grant will be awarded to the Hispanic Federation for triage shelters, supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) for a network of more than 20 clinics throughout Puerto Rico.

Previously, Rihanna and Dorsey had donated USD 4.2 million to help victims of domestic violence in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order.
