Tollywood Lockdown Short Film 'Jhhar Theme and Jabe Akdin' Released to Raise Awareness

The news of a short film titled ‘ Jhhar Themey Jabe Akdin He has caught the eyeballs since it was announced. Conceptualized by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and directed by Arindam Sil, the short film is finally out. It was made to raise funds for Tollywood employees and technicians.

Starring all the big shots like Prosenjit Chatterjee , Rituparna Sengupta, Nusrat Jahan, Paran Bandopadhyay, Open Chatterjee , Chatterjee Parambrate , Rukmini Maitra , Koel Mallick , Subhasree Ganguly and Mimi Chakraborty , ‘Jhhar Theme and Jabe Akdin’ also backs the Bengal government in its fight against COVID-19. With the nationwide lockdown extended, every shot of the actors has been taken individually from their respective homes to ensure social distancing.

‘Jhhar Themey Jabe Akdin’ follows a Kolkata girl (Rukmini Maitra) who suddenly receives an emergency call from her ailing father (Paran Bandopadhyay) from Bankura. She has to reach her father as soon as possible but the city is under lockdown. It's an emotional story, as every character is keen to prove that they are following all the preventive measures against the coronavirus. It eventually shows how all the characters help the girl reach Bankura, without violating the physical distancing rule.

The short film also has an underlying message. It is about how the government is taking care of people and providing medicines and essentials to everyone.
