AP police croons ‘corona song’ to unveil Covid-19
After proposing various initiatives, such as dressing as Lord Yama, the God of Death, or wearing crown helmets, the Andhra Pradesh Police Now I came up with a crown song to spread awareness of the virus and urge people to stay indoors.
KGV Saritha, SP Extra, Women's Wing, AP Police He lent his voice to a four-minute, 20-second crown song, which has gone viral on social media. Speaking to the Hyderabad Times, Saritha says: “We note that many young people are still taking to the streets and violating blockade regulations. Many still feel that coronavirus It only affects people who have traveled abroad. Today, we have over 400 active Covid-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh and I realized that we need to send a strong message to the masses. It was then that I decided to create this Corona song.
Saritha, who wrote the song herself, recorded it in an internal studio at the police headquarters in Vijayawada . Although I am not a professional singer, I used to sing a lot during my school days. I used that experience to sing this song in local dialect to make sure people understand the seriousness of the situation. This is the biggest fight of our lives and the only weapon we have is social distancing. People should take this blockade seriously and make life easier for us, ”he adds.
Police officers feel that friendly surveillance is the need for an hour at a time when tensions are high due to the ongoing pandemic. Such initiatives are very necessary to raise awareness and it is good to see people in our department coming up with such ideas. Our duty is not only to enforce the law during a crisis situation, but also to spread awareness through our artistic skills. The police department is making every effort and all we hope for is the cooperation of citizens, especially young people. Together we can overcome this deadly pandemic and return to our normal lives, he says. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada.
