Sufficient stocks of food, medicine, no need to worry: Union Interior Minister Amit Shah

NEW DELHI: Thanking the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his decision to extend the interior minister Amit Shah On Tuesday, he reassured people about sufficient supplies of food, medicine and other daily essentials in the country. In a series of tweets, Shah said that the extension of the Covid-19 lockdown until May 3 was taken to protect the lives of the country's people.



Praising the steps initiated by the government to contain the spread of Covid-19, Shah said the world was facing a global epidemic and the people of India had set an example for the whole world in fighting the disease. This is evident in all the timely decisions taken by the government and participation of the people in them, he stated.

Describing the coordination between the Centre and the states as key to fighting Covid-19 epidemic, the home minister termed the way state government s were working in tandem with the government . as “truly laudable“. “This coordination needs to be intensified so that all citizens follow the lockdown properly and no one faces any problem to access things of their everyday needs,” he added.

In greeting the frontline health care professionals and security personnel fighting Covid-19, Shah said the contribution of doctors, health workers, sanitation workers, the police and all security personnel playing a Important role in the fight was very moving. His courage and understanding in these difficult times inspire all Indians. Everyone should follow and cooperate with the guidelines, he said.
