Nikhila travels 20 km from her home in Thaliparamba to reach the help center, where she works from 10 a.m. at 5 p.m. I don't do it on a daily basis because of the rules that restrict travel, she says.

The activity is also helping her to better understand the situation of the public, says the actress. “The big challenge we faced in the early days was stopping the panic purchase. But that has been reduced because we assure them the supply of most of the items they request. The district has many joint families, so the demand is higher for essential items. Some callers are not used to smart phones and others just want to know what we have in stock. It is a new experience for me and I am glad I was able to help in some way during the pandemic, she says.

As a message to the public, the actress says: I know it is difficult for all of us to restrict ourselves and be inside our houses all the time. But we can also make it productive, by dedicating ourselves to organic agriculture and practicing the cultivation of microgreens. This will keep us busy until the lock is lifted.
