Ujjain: 3, including 2 children, drown in the Gambhir River
INDORE: Three people, including two children, were killed when they ventured into deep water while bathing in the Gambhir River in the Ilahipura village of Ujjain district on Sunday.
The incident took place in the afternoon when Rajpal Singh and Arun, both 10, entered the river while grazing cattle in the area, said Jayshri Ram Barde, head of the Bhairavgarh police station.
They ventured into deep water and began to drown. A young man, Veer Singh, 22, heard their screams and jumped into the river to save them, police said.
All three drowned, they added.
Later, their bodies were removed and sent for a post mortem examination.
