AK International Tourism is known for its pilgrimage trips. How did you get involved in gospel music?

A.K. International tourism conducts pilgrimages and devotional tours in Israel, Jordan, and Egypt for Christian believers. These tours take place twice a year according to the Jewish and Indian holiday calendars. The tour is completely non-profit for us and gives us peace and connects us with Christ. I am a huge music fan and love all kinds of music. I felt it was necessary to create a gospel music platform as music crosses walls, borders and touches hearts and souls worldwide, therefore I created Glorify Christ. It is our official Gospel Music platform. Our gospel music is outreach and cannot be kept within the walls of a church or community group. It is to the world that we proclaim the name of Jesus. Where do you see glorifying Christ in the next 5 years from now?

Well, we've created over 50 gospel songs from now on, and God willing, we'll have over 50 in the years to come. We wish to collaborate with Indian and foreign artists; be they singers, musicians, sound engineers, lyricists. Before I only produced songs, but now I am also creating my own music, which is appreciated by people in general and the most important thing is that it is shared.

After the success of Dil Mere Dil, Kalaam Humko Sikhata Hai is your new song also based on the Holy Bible?

If it is. It is based on Ecclesiastes 3. Kalaam Humko was based on Romans 12:14. I am very happy with the way people have loved my gospel songs and received them positively. I like to keep the sanctity and purity of the biblical verses as they are and present them musically. It is a bit of a difficult task, but I feel that God has ministered to me to do this gospel work in my life and I am blessed and honored.

You have won the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Prize, how do you feel?

(Smiles) God has been kind. I am humble with this honor. The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award is truly special, as I received it from the legendary Ramesh Sippy for his excellence in education abroad and gospel music. I feel it is a small contribution from my side to society, and recognition at this level motivates and encourages me for my future efforts.

What is it like to work with singer Vijay Benedict?

Vijay Benedict sir is a very humble and sincere artist. I have met him a few times during social gatherings. Her son Reuel Benedict sang for us at Glorify Christ 2. Divinity and sincerity are reflected in Vijay's voice, which is required in Samay. I was born the moment he delivered his success. I am a disco dancer and I was very scared even to approach him, but it was God's plan that he accept my request and sing Samay for my production. I hope we continue to collaborate on more projects in the future.

With the diverse kind of music content on various digital platforms, isn't this an exciting time to collaborate and experiment with various gospel genres?

Glorify Christ is a music platform for gospel music worldwide. Yes, creating worship songs is on our priority list. We are also creating interesting fusion, sufi, ghazals, rock, pop, and various other genres. We are also collaborating with musicians, singers and artists from all over the world. But now we are focusing only on the Bible verse or Scripture-based songs.

Have you also directed Samay's music video?

(Smiles) Yes, I've written the script, its script, and I've even directed the music video. I had worked as an assistant director on many of my production projects before. Initially, I used to write the script and the script, but after Aaradhana, directed by me and with Tridha Choudhury at the helm; gave me the confidence to lead Samay. My daughter Adwita Kamle, who is only 8 years old, plays an important role in the song. It is a delight to direct her at such a young age.

You always impart a unique message through your gospel songs, does Samay have one?

Yes, my songs reflect the person that I am and the vision that God has in me. Dil Mera Dil, which was sung by Shaan, was broadcast to the world to come to Jesus Christ if they had a troubled heart and those burdened. Kalaam Humko Sikhata Hai, sung by Abhay Jodhpurkar, gave the message to the world to bless those who persecute you and humanity is the only act and religion. Samay talks about Time and specifically that there is a time for everything. Samay's gospel song is based on Ecclesiastes 3.

We hear that you are working with UK music sound engineers for the Glorify Christ songs. It is true?

It is true. Look, whether it's Samay or Kalaam Humko Sikhata Hai, these gospel songs are a musical gift for your listeners and viewers. I am sure it will play the correct chords in the listener's heart and touch his soul. What are your next projects?

Next, we are making a classic gospel song based on Raag. We have collaborated and accepted many creative artists and instruments live and for this particular song. This will be the first classic gospel song of its kind. Then we have recorded a song with the legendary Kumar Sanu, which will be released later this year. Well, all I can say is that all of our subscribers and music lovers will soon have good music for the glory of God.
