Delhi coronavirus cases cross 1,000 mark; death toll rises to 19

NEW DELHI: The number of coronavirus cases in the national capital rose to 1,069 on Saturday, with 166 new cases and five reported deaths, according to the Delhi government. Of the total cases, 712 are those that have been brought to facilities through special operations.

Last month, government authorities took steps to quarantine people related to the religious congregation that took place in the area in March.

As of Friday night, the number of cases of the deadly virus in the city was 903, including 14 deaths.

With five more deaths reported, the death toll rose to 19.

Of the total cases, 26 have been discharged and one has migrated outside the country, authorities said.
