NEW DELHI: The Ministry of information and broadcasting on Saturday, he asked television and DTH to cooperate with distributors in value chains to ensure the uninterrupted supply of DTH and cable television service in the interest of viewers amid the coronavirus outbreak.

In a dated April 11 address to all broadcasters, the ministry’s notification said, “It will be appreciated by all concerned statekeholders at this critical juncture, this steady flow of information and keeping the public engaged inside their homes with programmes on news, authentic information and entertainment is of paramount importance.”

In light of the above, the order added: Therefore, all stakeholders are encouraged to continue to provide uninterrupted services to their customers and to cooperate with other players within the distribution chain in the interest of viewers and public safety. in these difficult times.

This is a continuation of the government order in March 2020 in which the ministry of Home Issues have said that transmission and cable providers must remain operational as part of essential services.

The move is seen as an advantage for local cable TV operators facing a subscriber billing crisis that has resulted between service providers and broadcasters.
