Akshay Kumar launches '#DilSeThankyou' initiative on social media to thank police, medical worker, vendors and others for their services amidst a coronavirus pandemic

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar showed he has a heart of gold when he started a new social media initiative to thank the police, healthcare worker, vendors, security personnel, NGOs, volunteers and others for their tireless service during the coronavirus pandemic .

Taking to their social media, the actor pointed to a new hashtag Dil Se Thank You. By setting up a template for others to join and follow, Akki shared a photo of himself holding a page with #DilSeThankYou and captioned it with his name and city.

The actor also shared a video of himself speaking about his interaction with his police officer friend. Pointing out the irony of the COVID-19 situation, he recalled his friend saying: Everyone is afraid to leave their homes and we (the police) are afraid to go to our homes. We spend our days interacting with so many people that we shouldn't be bringing this disease home with us. So we don't go home for 10-12 days.

The conversation he said made him think of the many people who are risking their lives just so they don't bother us. Akshay thanked people from various sectors, including the milkman, the vegetable vendor, and even the building watchers.

He even ordered fans to follow his lead and send a #DilSeThankYou message to these unrecognized heroes from different cities.

Akshay has led the way during these times of crisis by not only donating Rs 25 crore to PM CARES , but also doing their part to aid relief efforts and even share precautionary measures to avoid contracting the virus.
