Mohanlal donates Rs 50 lakh to CM Relief Fund
'The complete actor' Mohanlal He has reportedly donated Rs 50 lakh to the Kerala Prime Minister's Relief Fund to deal with the Coronavirus outbreak. The same chief minister, Pinarayi, revealed the update at a press meeting held yesterday, and the actor also wrote a letter to the honorable CM thanking him for the efforts made by the state government to stop the spread.
As per a copy of the letter shared by an online portal, Mohanlal thanked the CM for the safety measures and guidelines that had been set to contain the pandemic. Declaring that he was contributing Rs 50 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, the star asked the CM to use the money for the safety measures and relief steps initiated by the government.
As per sources, Mohanlal happens to be the first Mollywood celeb to have donated to the CM’s Relief Fund. Also, Mohanlal has recently agreed to support the daily wage workers in the Malayalam film industry who are the most affected by the on-going lockdown. Actress Manju Warrier and South star Allu Arjun also extended their support for daily wage workers in the industry.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal is at home during the lockdown. His ambitious and much awaited magnum opus ‘Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham’ was slated to release on March 26, but the Coronavirus outbreak has halted the release. The team is yet to announce the new release date.
