Young people from the city bring smiles to street children in the middle of COVID-19

Young people of Rotaract Lokhandwala Club is supporting a city-based NGO - Vivekananda Youth Forum ( VYF ) to provide daily essentials such as rice, dal, atta, oil, soap, cookies and much more to the most affected section of our society.

On April 2, 2020, they distributed several such kits to 15 Project Soup Kitchen families (60 people total) residing on nearby streets. Juhu Circle and Andheri, DN Nagar. In addition, they also distributed soaps, disinfectants, and cookies to 35 orphaned children of After Care Hostel in Chembur.

NGO volunteer, Vidur Dhabaria , who spearheaded the actions of the distribution unit, “Our Project Soup Kitchen beneficiaries are children who live on the streets. We provide education on a daily basis. These children require nutrition every day and it was important for us to provide the most essential items so that they can stay healthy and continue enjoying their daily lives with their friends and family on the streets.

Club president, Mayank Mishra , states, “Till date, we have touched 126 families and 575 lives through Project Muskaan with VYF. We are blessed to be a part of this initiative. We have completed 5 phases of our donation drives, we have more to come in the coming weeks. We urge all to continue showering their blessings and generous support towards this cause.
