Thane: Six more patients found positive coronavirus; total in Kalyan-Dombivli reaches 34

KALYAN: With six people testing positive in areas under the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC), the number of patients in the region increased to 34 on Monday, authorities said.

Of six patients, four are from Dombivli and two are from Kalyan (west).

The 38-year-old patient based in Kalyan (West) is the father of a six-month-old boy who was found Friday with a positive coronavirus. Previously, the 67-year-old patient's father and 60-year-old mother were also positive.

Of six patients, three are men and three are women. Four are between 22 and 38 years old and two are between 55 and 65 years old. All six patients became infected after contacting the patients, as they had no travel history. The health department said Monday that a patient who was infected after touching him during a wedding on March 19 was released from the hospital. So far, six patients have been discharged from a hospital in Kalyan-Dombivli, while 28 patients are still on treatment.

Noting the increase in coronavirus cases, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi approved on Monday the request that all stores, including grocery stores, vegetables and dairies remain closed from Tuesday after 5 p.m. M. Until further request. The order states that only medical stores, clinics, and hospitals will remain open throughout the day.
