Verify all ration card applications in the next 3 days: Nitish Kumar to officials

PATNA: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar On Sunday, he asked officials to complete verification of all pending ration cards in the next three days, so that genuine applicants could receive financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per family during the period.

The CM had announced Rs1,000 for all families of ration cardholders in the state to minimize the financial difficulties facing poor families in the national blockade due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a review meeting with the chief secretary and other top officials about the steps taken by the state government in the wake of Covid-19 and the subsequent shutdown, Nitish also asked officials to ensure a new review of all card applications. of rationing that were rejected before or still pending before the authorities for approval.

“People whose ration cards have been approved but not issued for any reason must receive a valid ration card after the necessary verification. Applications pending due to minor technical irregularities should be removed immediately so that eligible beneficiaries do not feel harassed, Nitish told officials.

Nitish, who personally oversees all relief operations in the aftermath of the closure, also told officials to ensure the early transfer of the farm input subsidy into the bank accounts of farmers whose crops were damaged due to seasonal rain in the March of this year.

The state government has already sanctioned Rs518.42 crore for payment to farmers as a subsidy for agricultural inputs against crop loss. CM also reviewed the payment of Rs1,000 per person to all Bihari migrant workers stranded out of state due to the national closure.

He asked officials to verify the migrant workers' requests and transfer 1,000 rupees into their bank accounts to provide relief in this hour of crisis.
