Mark Hamill writes a thank you note for 'Star Wars' fans

Actor Mark Hamill He has written a letter of appreciation for 'Star Wars' fans, saying it has been an 'extraordinary journey'.

He shared the letter on social media.

What an extraordinary journey it has been, Hamill said.

Hamill began by noting when he was testing his role in 'A New Hope', along with Harrison Ford and the afternoon Carrie Fisher In 1976, with no way to know what an incredibly rich and imaginative set of adventures this dark little space movie would launch, it would inspire eight more chapters to tell the entire Skywalker story.

The actor appeared in six of the nine movies as Luke Skywalker . Hamill last played Luke in 2019's 'Rise of Skywalker'.

The actor said he was grateful to all the fans, those who have been on the journey for the past 40 years and those who just discovered the franchise.

As Carrie once said, 'Star Wars' is about family, and that is what we have all become into a giant community that shares the experience of these stories and the fundamental value they instill in us, she wrote.

He concluded: I am deeply grateful for all of his continued enthusiasm and dedication to George's distant galaxy, which will continue to grow with new storytellers building an even bigger arcade, filled with heroes, villains, action, romance, and of course, The Force.
