Ankita Lokhande apartment complex was closed after a resident tested positive for a new coronavirus
An apartment complex behind a popular shopping mall in Malad has been closed after one of its residents tested positive for the new coronavirus COVID-19. The five-wing housing society inhabits several popular faces in show business, including Ankita Lokhande , Ashita Dhawan-Shailesh Gulabani, Natasha Sharma-Aditya Redij and Mishkat Verma.
A resident told us on condition of anonymity: “A man staying in the D wing returned from Spain earlier this month. He tested negative at the airport and was advised to quarantine for 15 days. However, on day 12, he developed coronavirus symptoms and was taken to the hospital with his wife. Although he tested positive, his wife's test results are negative. All persons who could have been in contact with the couple were also evaluated. Fortunately, all the test results are negative. This happened on March 26 and the company has been closed since then. Police officers have been stationed outside the building to ensure that no one leaves or enters the society's facilities.
We spoke to Ashita, who confirmed the news. She said, “Yes, a resident in my wing tested positive and is currently in a quarantine facility. I commend the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Mumbai Police. BMC officials have been very helpful. Earlier today, my mother-in-law sold out her medications and nearby medical stores were out of stock. So a BMC official compiled a list of medications from each department and purchased them from us. They have been closely monitoring everyone to ensure that we are safe. Of course, these are difficult times for all of us, but we will do whatever it takes to ensure everyone's safety. We have been asked not to maintain contact with external persons. We are also following WHO guidelines to keep the deadly virus at bay.
