2022 mascots from the Hangzhou Asian Games ‘smart triplets’ presented through online ceremony

NEW DELHI: The Official Pets of the 19th Century Asian games -- Congcong , Lianlian & Chenchen - They were presented at a digital launch ceremony in Hangzhou, China on Friday.

The three robots, which will be the pets of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian games They are collectively known as the smart triplets.

The mascots reflect the internet prowess of Hangzhou city & Zhejiang province & were unveiled during the 20-minute ceremony, which was conducted online due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Raja Randhir Singh, Chairman of the Coordination Committee while congratulating the organizing Committee on the launch of the mascots stated that mascots conveyed the smart intelligence of the modern world & the energy of the future.

“The mascots are vibrant & rich in content, integrating Chinese culture, characteristics of the city of Hangzhou & the spirit of the Asian games & the Asian continent,” Raja Randhir said.

The robot Congcong represents the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City while Lianlian represents the West Lake which signifies a lake full of lush lotus leaves -- green stands for life & nature.

The third mascot, Chenchen represents the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.

The Olympic Council of Asia’s 19th Asian games are slated to be held in Hangzhou from September 10-25, 2022.

The 2022 Asiad will be the third Games to be hosted by China following Beijing 1990 & Guangzhou 2010.
