Devoleena Bhattacharjee: Cyberstalkers are abusing their right to freedom of expression

Cyber bullying is endemic these days, and most of the time, celebrities are on the receiving end. TV actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee , who was last seen in 'Bigg Boss 13', is the latest victim of cyber bullies and is determined to take a stand against the problem. She has filed a Cybercrime complaint against a person who posted a dirty audio clip targeting her and her mother on social media. According to Devoleena, the criminal is a fan of Shehnaaz Gill , his fellow contestant on the reality show.

It all started a couple of days ago, when Devoleena launched live on Twitter and commented that there was zero chemistry between Sidharth Shukla and Shenaaz on the recently released single, 'Bhula Dunga'. Soon, SidNaz Fans started teasing her, and one of them posted the obscene audio clip. Devoleena told BT: “Usually I ignore trolls, but this person has crossed all limits. Cyberstalkers are taking advantage of their right to freedom of expression. So, I filed a complaint on Tuesday and also sent an email to the concerned authorities, asking them to take action the next day. We are close to discovering who is the criminal; it is not easy to trace the person, if it is someone who lives abroad. My action is a warning to all cyber stalkers, who are inclined to support their favorite celebrities.

So have you contacted Shehnaaz regarding this? I have sent the clip to Shenaaz's brother Shehbaz Badesha , but he hasn’t responded yet, ”the actress replied. When asked why she commented on SidNaz’s lack of chemistry, Devoleena said, “I have felt that way from day one. Shenaaz has always been vocal about her feelings, but Sidharth has made it clear that she is just a friend. There was no chemistry in the song and I commented just as a viewer. I have nothing against anyone. ”
