Congress Supports the Nation to Combat Coronavirus: Manmohan Singh
NEW DELHI: Congress reiterated Thursday that it agreed with the nation to confront the threat amid a 21-day national blockade.
During the morning Congressional Working Committee meeting by videoconference to discuss various issues, including the government's response to the pandemic, the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reiterated the party's support for the government, previously also expressed by the party's leader Rahul Gandhi .

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh , who was among the Congressional CMs to attend the meeting, reported on the preparations and measures taken to fight COVID in his state, including the provision of food and medicine and preventive measures.
Praising the efforts of various organizations and the Punjab police during the shutdown, he noted that the Center had not released the Punjab portion of Rs 5 billion rupees from the Center as an obstacle in the fight against the coronavirus.
He said he had discussed the issue with the Union's finance minister.
