Writing is about expressing yourself - Sudha Menon
If we want to write something, will someone read it? And even if they do, what will they say about it? Speaking of the doubt that people experience when they start writing, we have to understand that writing is about expressing yourself and not impressing anyone, the author said. Sudha Menon .
She was speaking on Writing With Woman (WWW), a workshop she organized on the occasion of International Woman ’s Day recently at Munching Route Café, Baner. Menon, who is the Author From books like Feisty At Fifty, Legacy and Devi and Diva or She Devil, women from different walks of life joined together because of shared experiences, their love for the written word and the need to establish contacts.
Menon, who founded the WWW three years ago, said: “Although we make up half of the world's population, women have very little opportunity to express their opinion or to express themselves. When a woman writes, she not only tells her story, but also the history of society, gender dynamics, and the status of women in society.
Menon said that participants in her workshop developed trust from sharing their experiences, formed bonds with likeminded women and learnt to write about their life with joy and trust .
